Newbury man arrested for Lyndon gas station robbery

LYNDON — A Newbury man was arrested Sunday on charges related to a robbery at a Lyndon gas station earlier in the week, according to Vermont State Police.

Dalton Kraft, 29, was apprehended without incident following a vehicle stop in St. Johnsbury.

The arrest came after multiple tips from the public helped investigators identify him as the suspect in the Jan. 5 robbery of the Mobil Mart on Broad Street.

Kraft, who has three prior felony convictions, was charged as a habitual offender and was ordered held without bail at the Northeast Correctional Complex.

He is scheduled to appear in the Caledonia County Superior Court- Criminal Division on Jan. 9 at 1 p.m.

The Vermont State Police expressed gratitude toward the community for their assistance, stating that the tips they received played a crucial role in the quick resolution of the case.
