JAMAICA — On Jan. 7, at approximately 3:54 p.m., Vermont State Police troopers from the Westminster Barracks were dispatched to a residence on VT-30 in Jamaica for a reported assault.
Upon arrival, investigators learned that David M. Vanhouten, 51, had been assaulted by Pierce M. Zimmer, 20, an acquaintance of the victim.
Both individuals are residents of Jamaica.
Zimmer was subsequently cited to appear in the Vermont Superior Court – Windham County, Criminal Division to face charges of simple assault.
He is scheduled to appear in court on March 25 at 8:30 a.m.
Further details regarding the circumstances of the assault have not been released as the investigation continues.
The Vermont State Police have not provided any additional comments on the incident at this time.
