Manchester man charged in fatal November crash

MANCHESTER — A 19-year-old Manchester man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal multi-vehicle crash that took place on Nov. 22.

Najean Mars faces charges of negligent homicide, second-degree assault, and reckless conduct after an extensive investigation into the accident, which involved five vehicles at the intersection of Maple and Silver Streets.

The crash resulted in life-threatening injuries for 53-year-old Melvin Pfeifer, also of Manchester, who was transported to a local hospital.

Pfeifer later died from his injuries.

His 50-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries.

Mars was taken into custody and his bail was set at $5,000.

Authorities stated that the investigation into the crash remains active and ongoing.
