Crash on Main Street in Fairfax

FAIRFAX — A single-vehicle accident occurred on Main St near Benoit Rd at approximately 3:10 p.m. on Jan. 3, leaving the driver unharmed and the vehicle with front-end damage.

Earl Greenwood, 53, of Fairfield, was operating his 2024 Ford F350 when he swerved to avoid an animal, causing his vehicle to veer off the road.

According to the Vermont State Police, St. Albans Barracks, the truck entered the ditch on the right side of the roadway, traveled down the ditch, and went over a driveway before getting back on the road.

Troopers who responded to the scene reported clear weather and clean, dry road conditions at the time of the crash.

Greenwood, who was wearing his seatbelt, did not sustain any injuries, and no hospitalization was necessary.

The Ford F350 incurred front-end damage but was able to be driven from the scene under its own power.

There was also some damage to the driveway involved in the incident.

The Vermont State Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
