Three arrested on drug, DUI charges ater Rhode Island traffic stops

PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island State Troopers conducted multiple traffic stops leading to arrests for various offenses, including stolen goods possession, drug possession, and driving under the influence.

At 6:37 p.m., Troopers apprehended Jullion Pope, 30, of East Greenwich, for receiving stolen goods during a vehicle stop on Branch Avenue.

Pope was taken to the State Police – Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed, and appeared before a Justice of the Peace.

He was later transferred to the Adult Correctional Institution Men’s Intake Center.

Later in the evening, at 8:48 p.m., Michelle Gardner, 39, from Woonsocket, was arrested for possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance, identified as crack/cocaine, after being stopped on Route 146 in Lincoln.

Gardner received processing at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and was released with a summons to appear in Third Division District Court.

Early the following morning, at 1:02 a.m., Cassandra Sanchez, 26, also from Woonsocket, faced charges for driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and refusal to submit to a chemical test following a stop on Route 146.

Like Gardner, Sanchez was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and released with a district court appearance notice.

In a separate incident at 3:10 a.m., Sebastian Carle, 25, of Pawtucket, was arrested for driving under the influence of liquor with a blood alcohol content significantly over the legal limit.

The arrest occurred on Dexter Street in Pawtucket.

Carle was detained overnight at the Lincoln Woods Barracks on account of a probation violation and awaited arraignment at Sixth Division District Court.
