NEWPORT — A two-vehicle collision on VT Route 111 has led to a DUI charge for a Derby man, according to Vermont State Police.
The incident occurred on Dec. 11 at approximately 6:08 p.m., when police were alerted to the crash in Derby.
John Hoyt, 54, of Derbyline, was identified as one of the drivers involved.
During the investigation, troopers observed multiple signs of impairment in Hoyt’s behavior.
He was arrested on suspicion of DUI and taken to the Derby Barracks for further processing.
Hoyt has been issued a citation to appear in court to face the DUI charge.
The date of the court appearance was not immediately available.
