BOSTON — Boston Police Department’s Youth Violence Strike Force, in collaboration with the Massachusetts State Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit, arrested 38-year-old Jason Smith on Monday morning in connection with a stabbing that occurred earlier this month in Dorchester.

At about 10:10 a.m. on Dec. 16, officers apprehended Smith at 107 Devon Street without incident on an arrest warrant issued following a stabbing investigation.

The initial incident took place on Dec. 4, when officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) were called to 18 Fernboro Street in response to a reported stabbing.

They discovered an adult male victim with stab wounds who was subsequently transported to a local hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.

Detectives from District B-2 launched an extensive investigation, leading to the identification of Smith as the suspect.

Smith is set to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court, facing multiple charges including armed and masked robbery, armed assault to rob, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, specifically a knife, and threats to commit a crime, to wit: to kill.
