BOSTON — At approximately 6:45 p.m. on Dec. 14, Boston Police officers arrested 37-year-old Daunte Beal of Dorchester on firearm-related charges after a traffic stop at the intersection of Dudley Street and Burrell Street in Roxbury.

Officers from District B-2 noticed a vehicle without headlights on Dudley Street and initiated a stop after the vehicle parked.

The driver, Beal, appeared nervous when asked for his license, prompting a further investigation.

Despite being ordered to exit his vehicle more than 20 times, Beal refused and was removed following a brief struggle after backup arrived.

He then attempted to flee but was apprehended.

A search revealed a black Ruger LCP in Beal’s pocket, loaded with one round in the chamber and four in the magazine.

Beal faces multiple charges, including carrying a firearm without a license and resisting arrest.

He will be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
