BOSTON — Boston Police Department’s Youth Violence Strike Force, in collaboration with the Massachusetts State Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit, arrested a man in connection with a Dorchester stabbing earlier this month.
At approximately 10:10 a.m. on Monday, officers took 38-year-old Jason Smith of Dorchester into custody on an arrest warrant related to a stabbing investigation.
The incident occurred on Dec. 4, when officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a call at 18 Fernboro Street.
They found a male victim with stab wounds, who was later transported to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
After an extensive investigation, detectives obtained a warrant for Smith’s arrest.
He was apprehended on Dec. 16 at 107 Devon Street without incident.
Smith faces charges including armed and masked robbery, armed assault to rob, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and threats to commit a crime.
His arraignment is scheduled in Roxbury District Court.
