WILLIAMSTOWN — A Williamstown man was arrested early Tuesday morning after police responded to a domestic assault call on Sugarhouse Road.
Vermont State Police said they received a report of a domestic assault in progress at 1:10 a.m. When troopers arrived, the 31-year-old victim reported experiencing pain and fear as a result of the altercation with Bryce Washburn, 30, also of Williamstown.
Washburn was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing.
Following the arrest, authorities cited Washburn to appear in court later that day at 12:30 p.m.
The identity of the victim has not been released by police, in line with their policy on incidents of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Further details on the incident or the condition of the victim were not immediately available.
The case remains under investigation.
