Chelsea police arrest one, seize drugs and cash in raid

CHELSEA — In a decisive move against illegal narcotics in the community, the Chelsea Police Drug Control Unit successfully executed a search warrant at a local residence, resulting in a significant drug bust and an arrest on Monday.

The operation, carried out at 43 Hooper Street, led to the apprehension of Alexander Salgado-Bonilla.

Chelsea police officers confiscated large amounts of cocaine, suboxone, and other illegal drugs during the raid.

Additionally, a substantial sum of U.S. currency, presumed to be proceeds from drug trafficking, was seized.

Salgado-Bonilla was brought before the Chelsea District Court for arraignment yesterday, where he faces various charges pertaining to the possession and distribution of controlled substances.

Chief Keith Houghton commended the Drug Control Unit’s expertise and dedication, asserting, “This successful operation demonstrates the professionalism and vigilance of our Drug Control Unit.

Their hard work continues to make Chelsea a safer place for all residents.
