ST. JOHNSBURY — A 35-year-old St. Johnsbury resident, Cassaundra Walker, was arrested on charges of being a fugitive from justice and cocaine possession after police responded to a call at a Maple Street residence on Dec. 12.
According to the St. Johnsbury Police Department, officers arrived at the location around 10 a.m. following a complaint from the apartment owner about unauthorized individuals refusing to leave the premises.
During the process of removing the individuals, Walker was identified and found to have an extraditable warrant from New Hampshire.
In addition to the warrant, authorities discovered that Walker was in possession of cocaine.
She was taken into custody and processed at the police department before being lodged at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility (NERCF).
Walker is scheduled for arraignment on Dec. 13 at 12:30 p.m. in the Caledonia Superior Court.
As the case requires court action, she was not eligible for bail and will remain in custody until the court date.
