Somerville police investigate series of incidents including shots fired, assault, harassment

SOMERVILLE — Somerville Police Department has reported a series of crimes over the past week, including gunfire damage to a vehicle, assault, and harassment.

At 9:46 p.m. on Dec. 2, officers responded to a call at 500 Mystic Ave where they found a vehicle with ballistic damage and three shell casings on the scene.

There were no injuries reported, and the investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.

In another incident on Nov. 29 at approximately 8:47 p.m., police were called to 379 Broadway where juveniles were reportedly vandalizing a building.

The victim told officers that the teens were inside the building causing destruction and when confronted, they threw rocks and other items at him.

Police have identified the suspects involved in the assault.

On Nov. 27 around 1:16 p.m., a harassment complaint was filed by a victim who was approached and followed by a male suspect in Davis Sq.

The suspect allegedly grabbed the woman’s arm as she attempted to escape, but she managed to pull away and flee the area.

Additional reports included two package thefts, two bike thefts, one motor vehicle theft, four car break-ins, and one vandalism case.

The Somerville Police urge the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity as they continue to investigate these incidents.
