Chelsea police arrest suspect in fatal shooting

CHELSEA — A 31-year-old man has been taken into custody in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred earlier today on Marginal Street, according to the Chelsea Police Department.

Luckenson King Pablo was arrested by Chelsea Police and the Massachusetts State Police, with the aid of the Everett Police Department.

Chief Keith Houghton announced that the suspect is believed to have carried out a targeted attack, assuring the community that there is no broader danger to the public.

“I want to thank all Chelsea Officers who responded to the call and rendered aid, also thanks to the State Police Detectives who are assigned to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, and the Everett Police Department, who worked together to swiftly place the suspect in custody,” Houghton said.

The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Melissa Janvier Pablo.

The police expressed their condolences to the victim’s family and indicated that the investigation is still active.
