Boston officers nab two in package theft case

BOSTON — Two men were arrested Thursday on charges of stealing packages in the Mattapan neighborhood, police said.

At about 12:50 p.m., officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested James Wheeler, 35, and Dante Brown, 38, both of Dorchester, for larceny from a building.

The police were called to 28 Nightingale Street after receiving a report of a package theft.

Boston Police Operations provided a description of two suspects seen fleeing towards Talbot Avenue.

Officers located Wheeler and Brown on Browning Avenue, handcuffed them, and recovered a sealed package addressed to a Nightingale Street resident.

Both suspects were charged with larceny from a building.

Wheeler faces an additional charge of receiving stolen property.

They are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
