Man arrested for fourth DUI after being found unresponsive on I-89 in South Burlington

SOUTH BURLINGTON — A Richmond man was arrested for his fourth DUI late Thursday night after troopers found him unresponsive in a vehicle on Interstate 89, according to Vermont State Police.

Patrick Barron, 42, was encountered by Troopers from the Williston Barracks around 10:06 p.m. on Nov. 28, when they came upon a disabled vehicle on the right side of the southbound lanes near mile marker 86.

Barron and a female passenger were both initially unresponsive in the car but later regained consciousness.

Troopers noted several signs of impairment while interacting with Barron.

He was taken into custody under suspicion of DUI related to drugs and was processed at the Williston Barracks.

Following the processing, Barron received a citation to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court on Feb. 13 at 8:30 a.m. to face the DUI charge.

Barron was also lodged at Northwest State Correctional Facility.

The condition of the female passenger was not disclosed in the report.
