String of thefts from vehicles, including car stolen in Richmond

RICHMOND — A series of thefts, including grand larceny and unlawful trespass, hit the Town of Richmond during the early morning hours of Nov. 28, local authorities reported.

The Hinesburg Police Department responded to numerous calls from Tilden Avenue, Millet Street, and Baker Street residents reporting thefts from motor vehicles and one stolen vehicle—a gray 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan with Vermont registration KAK734.

Items reported missing include cash, debit and credit cards, personal identification, and a firearm.

The police are treating the incidents as an active investigation.

Officials have advised Richmond residents to inspect their vehicles for any signs of disturbance or theft.

The Hinesburg Police Department is also requesting community assistance, asking residents with home security systems, such as CCTV, ring doorbells, or personal cameras, to review their footage for any suspicious activity.

Residents who notice anything unusual or have information are encouraged to refrain from approaching the stolen vehicle if spotted and to contact law enforcement immediately.
