Plymouth police investigate fatal 4-vehicle crash

PLYMOUTH — A serious motor vehicle accident involving three cars and a Department of Transportation truck at the intersection of Poland Brook Road and Bemis Street resulted in the death of a female occupant on Tuesday afternoon.

The Plymouth Police Department received a report of the crash at approximately 3:31 p.m. on Nov. 26.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the multi-vehicle accident and a female victim with serious injuries.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, the female died at the scene.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The Naugatuck Valley Collision Investigation Team and the Connecticut State Police Truck Squad are assisting in the ongoing investigation of the incident.

The road was closed for several hours but was reopened by 10:22 p.m. The Plymouth Police Department expressed their condolences and extended gratitude to the Terryville Volunteer Fire Department and the Plymouth Volunteer Ambulance Corps for their assistance during the emergency.
