ROCKLAND — Police arrested a 32-year-old Rockland man Tuesday in connection with a string of burglaries targeting local businesses over the past week.
Clifford Dumont faces multiple charges, including three counts of felony burglary, one count of felony theft, and various misdemeanor offenses, according to the Rockland Police Department.
Authorities said Dumont was booked into the Knox County Jail following a joint investigation by Rockland Police, Knox County Sheriff’s Office detectives, and the Thomaston Police Department.
Investigators recovered approximately $157 in stolen money during the probe.
Dumont is also expected to face additional burglary charges for similar incidents in Thomaston, police said.
The arrest comes after reports of break-ins at three Rockland businesses.
Police credited security measures implemented by local establishments, such as surveillance cameras and limiting cash kept on premises overnight, with aiding the investigation and minimizing losses.
Rockland Police Detective Sergeant Max King urged anyone with information about the case to contact him at [email protected] or submit a tip via the department’s Facebook page.
