Groton man sought in stabbing, truck theft

GROTON — Vermont State Police are looking for a man accused of stabbing another man and stealing his truck in Groton.

Authorities say the incident happened around 8:35 p.m. Monday on Tinkham Road.

Brandon Lackie, 36, allegedly stabbed John Faucette, 39, multiple times in the back before fleeing in Faucette’s truck.

Faucette, after calling the police, was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, where he is now in stable condition.

Police found the stolen truck abandoned in Ryegate but have not yet located Lackie.

Described as a white male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 145 pounds, Lackie has brown, balding hair and a full beard.

He was last seen wearing a dark coat with graphics and text.

Authorities urge anyone who sees Lackie to avoid contact and call 911 or the Vermont State Police in St. Johnsbury at 802-748-3111.

State police are continuing their investigation and will release further information as it becomes available.
