Boston police investigate Ramsey Park stabbing death

BOSTON — A woman was fatally stabbed at a Boston park over the weekend and police are asking for the public’s help in the investigation.

At 12:48 p.m. on Saturday, officers from District D-4 responded to a call at Ramsey Park at 1917 Washington St., where they found 65-year-old Celia Simmons suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Simmons was treated at the scene by Boston Emergency Medical Services and transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 11:40 p.m., the Boston Police Department said in a statement.

The department’s Homicide Unit is actively reviewing the incident and has asked anyone with information to contact them at 617-343-4470.

The police have assured that the identities of all who provide information anonymously will be protected.

The Boston Neighborhood Trauma Team is available to offer emotional support to community members affected by the incident at 617-431-0125, 24 hours a day.
