Woman charged with DUI after crash near golf course in Springfield

NEWPORT — A 23-year-old woman was charged with driving under the influence after her vehicle was found with heavy front-end damage near Crown Point Golf Course on Nov. 14.

Officers from the Weathersfield and Springfield Police Departments responded to a call about a vehicle off the roadway on Brook Road in Springfield around 6:30 p.m.

The car had left the scene heading toward Weathersfield Center Road when Weathersfield PD located it in front of the golf course.

Victoria Clogston of Springfield was identified as the driver.

An investigation led to the determination that Clogston was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Windsor Police Department for processing.

Clogston was processed on suspicion of DUI and received a Vermont Criminal Citation to appear in the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, in Windsor on Dec. 3.

She was released to a sober adult and is not currently lodged.
