IRA — Two people sustained minor injuries in a crash on US RT 4 near the Ira Rest Stop on Nov. 16.
At approximately 3:07 p.m., Vermont State Police responded to a collision involving two vehicles.
Amanda Buchanan, 36, of Rutland, was operating a 2015 Toyota Corolla, traveling west on US RT 4.
Amy Raymond, 46, of Fair Haven, was driving a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee in the same direction.
According to the investigation, Buchanan swerved in front of Raymond’s vehicle, causing the Jeep to collide with the Corolla.
The impact resulted in the total loss of Buchanan’s car and major damage to the front passenger side of Raymond’s Jeep.
Gary Lescord, 41, a passenger in Buchanan’s vehicle from Bellows Falls, suffered minor injuries, but did not require hospitalization.
Raymond reported minor chest pain.
Earlier in the day, at 3 p.m., a Be On the Lookout (BOL) had been issued for Buchanan’s vehicle in the vicinity of US RT 4 at exit 6.
Buchanan was taken into custody and transported to the Rutland Barracks for processing.
She was later released on citation to appear in court at a later date.
The Vermont State Police were assisted by the Castleton Police Department, Ira Fire Department, and Regional Ambulance Service.
