BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department’s District B-2 arrested a man and seized an unserialized firearm, commonly known as a “ghost gun,” during a traffic stop in Roxbury early Sunday morning.

At 1:15 a.m., on Nov. 16, officers patrolling the area identified a vehicle linked to an earlier incident involving a firearm.

The vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Humboldt Ave. and Ruthven St., where officers recognized the driver, 28-year-old Garvis Arias-Lara of Dorchester, along with a passenger.

Both individuals were under investigation in connection with the previous incident, which occurred on Nov. 15.

During the stop, police found a hidden firearm inside a cavity of the vehicle’s front driver’s side door panel.

B-2 Detectives later identified the weapon as a black ghost gun loaded with eight 9mm rounds in a Glock magazine, but no round in the chamber.

Arias-Lara was arrested and faces arraignment in Roxbury District Court on charges that include Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License, Carrying a Firearm Without a License, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
