Man arrested for aggravated domestic assault in Troy

TROY — A homeless man was arrested late Thursday night for first degree aggravated domestic assault on Mill Street.

Ralph Rossi, 33, was taken into custody after Vermont State Police responded to a domestic disturbance call at approximately 10:32 p.m.

Troopers from the Derby Barracks discovered Rossi had used a weapon to commit the assault against a 62-year-old resident of Mill Street.

Following his arrest, Rossi was processed at the Derby State Police Barracks.

He was held on $5,000 bail and transported to Northern State Correctional Facility.

Rossi is scheduled to appear in Orleans Superior Court – Criminal Division on Nov. 15 at 12:30 p.m.

The identity of the victim has not been released by the police, adhering to privacy laws regarding victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
