Somerville police investigate break-ins, arrest suspect in weapons call

SOMERVILLE — Police in Somerville are investigating two residential break-ins that occurred on Nov. 10, with one suspect chased from a home and no items reported missing from either location.

The first incident occurred at approximately 1:16 p.m. when officers responded to a residence on College Ave after a man checking on his friend’s apartment noticed an intruder inside.

The suspect was chased out of the house by the reporting party.

A second break-in was reported later in the day, at around 2:30 p.m., on Partridge Ave.

The homeowner told police that a window had been broken in a past breaking and entering, but nothing was taken.

In a separate incident on Nov. 8, at approximately 9:40 p.m., officers responded to a weapons call at the intersection of Fenwick St & Heath St. Two victims reported being approached by a male with a knife.

Police arrested the suspect at the scene.

Additionally, Somerville Police noted other crimes in the area, including four package thefts, four motor vehicle thefts, one bicycle theft, one car break-in, and three incidents of vandalism to motor vehicles.

The investigations into these crimes are ongoing.
