FALL RIVER — A Fall River man was convicted today on charges of first-degree murder in the 2021 shooting deaths of two individuals, according to authorities.
Jeremy Holmes was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder for the killings of Jovaughn Mills and Miguel Sanjuro.
The verdict also included convictions for assault and battery with a firearm and carrying a firearm without a license.
The jury delivered the verdict after a trial in Bristol County Superior Court.

The combined efforts of the Major Case Division Detectives and State Police Detective Unit resulted in a thorough investigation that ultimately led to the successful prosecution of the case by the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
In a statement, the Fall River Police Department extended their deepest sympathies to the families and friends of Mills and Sanjuro, acknowledging that while the conviction cannot bring back the lives lost, they hope it will provide some measure of closure.
