Two found dead in Montpelier home, police investigating double homicide

MONTPELIER — Vermont State Police and Montpelier Police Department are jointly investigating a suspected double homicide after two individuals were found dead on Friday, Nov. 15, in a residence on Gallison Hill Road.

The incident was reported around 11:30 a.m., and upon arrival, first responders discovered two deceased persons.

A man was detained at the scene.

Authorities have stated that they believe all individuals involved have been accounted for, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The Vermont State Police Major Crime Unit, Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Crime Scene Search Team, Field Force Division, and Victim Services Unit are actively conducting the preliminary stages of the inquiry, with support from the Montpelier Police Department.

Following the crime scene investigation, the bodies will be transported to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington for autopsies to ascertain the causes and circumstances of the deaths.

The identities of the deceased will be disclosed after family notifications and further examination.
