BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department’s Mattapan division apprehended a Dorchester man and recovered two firearms after responding to a Shot Spotter activation on Page Street on Monday night.
At 8:49 p.m., on Nov. 11, officers were dispatched to 19 Page St. where they encountered a group of individuals and a man later identified as 45-year-old Reginald Williams, who tried to evade police by entering a nearby residence.
Williams was seen hurrying towards the backyard of 20 Page St. and was stopped by officers.
During the encounter, officers removed a large folding knife from his pocket and proceeded to search the area, uncovering a firearm inside a barbecue grill and a second weapon in the grass.
Detectives confirmed the first gun to be a Taurus G2C 9mm pistol with an extended magazine loaded with 22 rounds and one in the chamber.
The second was an unloaded EIG 4-barrel .22 caliber pistol.
Williams faces multiple charges, including carrying a firearm without a license, unlawful possession of ammunition, and carrying a dangerous weapon.
He is set to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
