NEWPORT CENTER — A Newport Center man was arrested after allegedly trespassing on private property and violating a court order, Vermont State Police reported.

The series of incidents began on Oct. 21 when state troopers were called to a single-vehicle crash on VT Route 100.

Upon arrival, law enforcement found the vehicle abandoned.

Later that morning, ReJean Roberge, 78, reported that the vehicle, which belonged to him, had been taken without permission by 23-year-old Taylor Coull, who had been previously issued a no-trespass order.

On Nov. 9 at 10:12 p.m., authorities received a second report of Coull trespassing on Roberge’s property.

Troopers responded to the scene and found Coull present on the premises.

An investigation concluded that Coull had committed two counts of trespassing and aggravated offense of court order (Agg OOC).

Coull, whose city and state of residence are unknown, was arrested and later released with a citation to appear in Orleans Criminal Court.
