SOMERVILLE — A string of criminal activities has hit Somerville with incidents ranging from an armed robbery to multiple assaults, according to the Somerville Police Department.
On Oct. 31 at about 10:33 p.m., officers responded to an armed robbery on Somerville Ave.
The victim reported that he arranged to meet a male party on Woodstock St to sell sneakers.
However, the male party brandished a gun and stole the sneakers.
The previous day, Oct. 30, at around 2:46 p.m., police were called to the East Somerville Community School due to a weapons incident.
A juvenile male was reported to be shooting at people with a BB gun on the soccer field.
Another assault was reported on Nov. 3 at approximately 9:04 p.m. when a man on Broadway told police he was attacked by another male while dropping off his daughter.
The suspect has been identified.
On Nov. 1, at about 12:20 p.m., a resident of a multifamily complex on Bow St reported a past breaking and entering where his bike was stolen from the common area.
Later, on Nov. 3 at around 12:13 a.m., a man on Walnut St flagged down police, reporting he was assaulted by three young males while walking home.
He sustained facial injuries.
An arrest was made on Nov. 2 at approximately 12:30 a.m. after police responded to Sunset Rd for a weapons call.
A group of Tufts students reported a male party brandishing a machete and slamming it on the ground in front of them.
Officers located the suspect, who was then arrested.
Additionally, the police reported 4 motor vehicle thefts, 2 vandalism incidents, 4 bike thefts, 3 car break-ins, and 1 motor vehicle vandalism.
The Somerville Police Department is actively investigating these incidents and encourages anyone with information to come forward.
