SALEM — At approximately 2:20 p.m. on Oct. 24, Salem Police Officer Mullen conducted a routine motor vehicle stop where the driver claimed to be without identification.

The individual provided Officer Mullen with a name, date of birth, Social Security number, and other personal details, which were all verified as accurate, leading to the driver being released with a warning.

However, a subsequent investigation by Officer Mullen and Sergeant Feole revealed that the information given during the stop belonged to the driver’s brother, who was not the subject of any warrants.

After Sergeant Feole provided a photograph of a wanted male to Officer Mullen, it was confirmed that the photo matched the individual who had been stopped earlier.

Officer Mullen proceeded to the residence of the wanted man, finding him hiding in the backyard.

The man was then arrested and charged with disobeying an officer, two bench warrants, bail jumping, and driving after suspension for a previous DUI.
