FALMOUTH — A routine patrol by the Falmouth Police Department led to the arrest of a suspect in connection with a series of package thefts in the Great Harbors neighborhood.
At approximately 2:32 p.m. today, Officer Emily Levins identified a vehicle on Sanddollar Circle that matched the description from security footage of the recent thefts.
She also spotted a male who resembled the suspect seen in the footage.
Backup units and detectives arrived on the scene to conduct an investigation, which resulted in the recovery of several items reported stolen.
Wericsson Nunes-Lima, 23, of Middleboro, was arrested on charges of Larceny and Vandalizing Property.
He has been booked and is awaiting bail.
The Falmouth Police Department praised Officer Levins for her alertness and dedication, which facilitated the swift apprehension of Nunes-Lima.
Prior to the arrest, the police had sought the public’s help in identifying the suspect shown in photographs linked to thefts on Little Farm Lane, Alcott Road, Acapesket Road, and Sam Turner Road.
