Man arrested for disturbance at Rhode Island polling site

COVENTRY, RI — A local man was arrested Tuesday morning after causing a disturbance at a polling location in Coventry, Rhode Island.

At approximately 10:15 a.m., the Coventry Police Department responded to an incident at Maple Root Baptist Church, where voters were gathering to cast their ballots.

According to police, 33-year-old Timothy Masse was allegedly confrontational, yelling obscenities and vulgar remarks at voters, political supporters, and election staff, disrupting the polling process.

Despite the presence of officers, Masse reportedly continued his disruptive behavior, resulting in his arrest for Disorderly Conduct.

Masse, was taken to the Coventry Police headquarters for processing.

He now awaits arraignment before a bail commissioner.
