MILTON — A single-vehicle crash on Interstate 89 Northbound resulted in the overturn of a Nissan Rogue and temporary lane closures near mile marker 102 at 12:41 p.m. on Nov. 5.

Laura Richardson, 56, of Grand Isle, was the sole occupant of the 2021 Nissan Rogue, which was declared totaled after she reportedly fell asleep at the wheel.

According to the state police, Richardson veered into the median and collided with the ledge, causing her vehicle to overturn.

Richardson, who was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the incident, did not sustain any injuries.

However, she was transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center as a precautionary measure.

The weather conditions were clear with dry roads at the time of the crash.

The incident led to the interstate being reduced to one lane for a short period, causing minor traffic delays.

Emergency response teams from the Milton Fire Department and Colchester Rescue assisted state troopers at the scene.

The roadway was cleared and reopened to normal traffic shortly after the accident.
