Swanton teen arrested for DUI after crashing into guardrail in Highgate

HIGHGATE — A 19-year-old from Swanton was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence late Tuesday night after his vehicle struck a guardrail on Cook Rd near Route 207.

Vermont State Police responded to the incident at approximately 11:35 p.m. on Nov. 5.

According to authorities, the driver exhibited several signs of impairment at the scene and was subjected to a DUI screening.

Following the assessment, Fellows was taken into custody and transported to the St. Albans State Police Barracks for processing.

He was later released with a citation to appear in Franklin County Superior Court on Dec. 9 at 8:30 a.m. to face DUI charges.
