COVENTRY — Shortly after midnight on Nov. 1, Coventry police responded to a call on South Street where they found a man with a knife wound on the ground near the road edge.

The incident began in a nearby home involving two men and a woman.

Authorities say Daniel Chagnot, 48, of Bolton, entered the residence, causing a commotion that escalated into a physical altercation.

During the fight, one man was assaulted with a knife.

The other man involved fled the scene but later surrendered to the police.

Chagnot was apprehended and charged with first-degree assault, second-degree threatening, disorderly conduct, second-degree criminal mischief, and home invasion.

He was initially held on a $50,000 bond after being arraigned in court on Nov. 1.
