NAUGATUCK — A lockdown at Naugatuck High School was lifted Thursday after police determined a reported threat was not credible.
Authorities received a tip from a Veterans’ Hotline at about 1:30 p.m. claiming an armed person was spotted outside the school at 543 Rubber Avenue.
Naugatuck Police immediately secured the scene and initiated safety protocols for the students and staff.
After a thorough investigation, officers found the threat to be unsubstantiated.
They also noted that similar threats had been made to other schools in the region recently.
The source of the hoax call is still being investigated, but officials assured there is no current danger to the community.
School activities have since returned to normal.
