LAWRENCE — Lawrence Police responded to a car crash on South Union Street early this morning and found a 27-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The incident occurred before dawn, and officers were quick to secure the scene.
Paramedics and EMTs from Lawrence General Hospital provided immediate medical attention to the injured man at the location of the accident.
He was then transported to Lawrence General Hospital for further treatment.
Due to the nature of his injuries, the victim was later moved to a Boston hospital.
As of the latest reports, the injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
Lawrence Police Department, in conjunction with the Essex State Police Unit, is conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
