Colchester police investigate early morning assault, shots fired

COLCHESTER — On Oct. 28, at approximately 3:48 a.m., the Colchester Police Department responded to an assault report near Lincoln Dr. where a firearm was discharged, though no individuals were hit by gunfire.

The incident, which is not believed to be random, involved parties that were acquainted with each other.

Police were able to recover ballistic evidence at the scene.

A victim, who sustained a head laceration during the assault, received medical attention from St. Michael’s College Rescue.

Detectives are actively investigating the case.

The Colchester Police Department will provide updates as more information becomes available.
