Poultney man arrested for domestic assault, other charges

POULTNEY — A 39-year-old man was arrested Sunday on multiple charges including domestic assault after an incident at a residence in Poultney, authorities said.

David P. Saltis of Poultney was taken into custody following a report of domestic assault at 65 Blissville Rd. at 11:44 a.m., according to Vermont State Police.

Troopers from the Rutland Barracks, assisted by the Castleton Police Department, responded to the scene.

Their investigation determined that Saltis had allegedly caused pain or bodily injury to two family or household members.

Saltis is also accused of interfering with one victim’s ability to access emergency services and breaking their phone.

He faces two counts of domestic assault, one count of unlawful mischief, and one count of interference with access to emergency services.

Saltis was processed and issued conditions of release.

He is scheduled to appear at Vermont Superior Court, Rutland Criminal Division, at 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 28.

A judicial official ordered Saltis held at Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility on $5,000 bail.
