VERNON — Vermont State Police arrested a Chester man for his second DUI offense after receiving a report of a potentially intoxicated driver on Oct. 26.
Troopers from the Westminster Barracks responded to Houghton Hill Road in Vernon at approximately 12:07 p.m. following a call about a man who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol while in a vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers determined that Paul J. Fougere Jr., 58, had operated a yellow 2005 Chevrolet Aveo on a public highway while allegedly impaired.
Fougere was transported to the Westminster Barracks for processing.
He was subsequently cited for DUI #2 and is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division, on Nov. 12 at 8:30 a.m. to answer the charge.
This incident marks Fougere’s second alleged DUI offense.
The Vermont State Police continue to enforce strict measures against impaired driving to ensure public safety on the state’s roads.
