MANCHESTER — A minimum-security resident of a transitional housing unit in Manchester has been placed on escape status after failing to return from work, the New Hampshire Department of Corrections announced Tuesday.
Jada Hodan Alfred, 28, left the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday for his job at a business on Second Street in Manchester but never arrived at work.
He was expected to return to Calumet House by 9 p.m. but did not show up.
Corrections officials placed Alfred on escape status at 9:45 p.m. and are actively seeking to take him into custody.
They are urging Alfred to turn himself in immediately.
Alfred is described as a Black male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 155 pounds, with a bald head and clean-shaven face.
He was last seen wearing black athletic pants, a black hooded sweatshirt, black sneakers and a red durag.
Currently incarcerated for first-degree assault and burglary, Alfred has a minimum parole eligibility date of Dec. 16, 2024, and a maximum release date of Dec. 15, 2030.
The Department of Corrections is asking anyone with information on Alfred’s whereabouts to contact Chief of Investigations Jay Darrah at 603-848-2569 or call local police.
