WATERBURY — A Connecticut man faces multiple drug charges after police discovered a large quantity of fentanyl during a routine patrol of a city-owned parking lot.
On Oct. 21, 2024, at approximately 4 p.m., a Waterbury Police Department officer observed a suspicious occupied vehicle while patrolling a parking lot on West Main Street.
Upon investigation, the officer identified the vehicle’s operator as Phillip Anthony, 59, of Waterbury.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 480 bags of fentanyl and $825 in cash.
Anthony was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell and operating a drug factory.
He is currently held on a $50,000 bond by the Connecticut Department of Corrections.
According to police, Anthony has a prior criminal history that includes multiple narcotics-related convictions.
