Rhode Island state police make multiple arrests overnight

PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island State Police arrested three individuals overnight on charges ranging from driving under the influence to drug possession and domestic violence.

At 10 p.m. Monday, troopers arrested Antonio C.

Bettencourt, 29, of Scituate, following a crash on Route 10 in Providence.

Bettencourt faces charges of driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.

He was taken to Our Lady of Fatima Hospital for a blood draw and later admitted for suicidal ideations.

In a separate incident at 12:08 a.m. Tuesday, police arrested Sopiya Huot, 40, of Woonsocket, during a traffic stop on Route 146 in North Providence.

Huot was charged with possession of cocaine under 10 grams.

At 2 a.m. Tuesday, troopers apprehended Derek L.

Bingham, 29, of Lincoln, on an outstanding warrant from Lincoln Police Department.

Bingham faces charges of domestic assault, violating a no-contact order, and disorderly conduct.

Bettencourt and Huot were released with notices to appear in court.

Bingham was turned over to Lincoln police.
