Williamstown woman charged with unlawful mischief, burglary

WILLIAMSTOWN — A 33-year-old Williamstown woman faces charges of unlawful mischief and burglary after allegedly damaging property and entering a residence without permission.

Vermont State Police responded to a call on Chelsea Road in Williamstown at 9:56 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2024.

A witness reported that Debra Christie was destroying property with a hammer and had gained access to the residence.

Troopers located Christie at the scene and took her into custody without incident.

She was transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing.

Authorities issued Christie a citation to appear in court and released her at the court’s direction.

The Vermont State Police did not release information about the victim.

The incident remains under investigation.
