Worcester officer arrests man during car break-in

WORCESTER — A Worcester Police Department officer on early morning patrol apprehended a local man caught in the act of breaking into a vehicle on Mason St. on Oct. 24.

At approximately 4:10 a.m., the officer witnessed 46-year-old Hector Gonzalez attempting to gain entry into multiple cars by pulling on their door handles.

Gonzalez was observed successfully opening and entering one of the vehicles, leading to his arrest by the patrolling officer.

Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Gonzalez had an active warrant for a similar offense.

He was charged with Breaking and Entering into a Depository and transported to the police station for booking.
