Cyclist struck by car in Groton, transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

GROTON — Members of the Groton Police and Fire Departments responded to a collision involving a cyclist and a vehicle on Main Street at 3 p.m. yesterday.

According to the Groton Police Department, the vehicle was traveling eastbound and turning left into a driveway when it struck the westbound cyclist, who was riding an electric bike.

The cyclist was promptly transported to the hospital by the Groton Fire Department, having sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident is currently under investigation.

Authorities have not released the identities of those involved and are asking witnesses or anyone with information related to the crash to come forward to assist in the inquiry.
