New London police seek witnesses in hit-and-run that injured child

NEW LONDON — New London Police Department is actively investigating a hit-and-run incident that left a 12-year-old girl injured on Oct. 22.

Authorities responded to reports of a vehicle-pedestrian accident with injuries around 3:13 p.m. near 33 Ocean Ave.

Upon arrival, first responders found the injured juvenile lying in the street.

She was conscious when emergency services contacted her and was quickly transported to L+M Hospital for treatment.

The girl has been released from the hospital following medical care.

The vehicle involved initially fled the scene but later made contact with the police.

The New London Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Team secured the accident site and is leading the investigation.

The New London Police Department urges anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident to contact the New London Police Detective Bureau at 860-447-1481.
