Avon police assist in theft investigation, one juvenile in custody and another at large

AVON — Earlier this evening, the Avon Police Department aided the Stoughton Police with an active theft investigation.

The collaboration led to a high-speed pursuit that ended in Avon when the suspect’s vehicle hit a curb on Route 28 near E. Spring St and became immobilized.

A juvenile female suspect was arrested by Stoughton Police without any issues following the crash.

Meanwhile, a second suspect, a male juvenile with a dark complexion, fled the scene on foot.

He was last observed around W. Main St and Rock St.

Law enforcement officers expanded their search in the vicinity to locate the second juvenile.

No injuries have been reported, and no weapons were involved in the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing as police work to apprehend the second suspect.
